Both CT and MRI examinations have a common flow up to 5.




Those who can undergo MRI examination




◎ The following people may not be able to take the test. Please be sure to let the staff know.・Persons wearing cardiac pacemakers, defibrillators, stimulation electrodes, continuous self-monitoring blood glucose meters, etc.・Persons with metal implants such as cerebral aneurysm clips or artificial joints in the body・Persons with tattoos (including eyebrow art)・Those who are pregnant or suspected to be pregnant.・If you are taking any medicine, please consult your family doctor.
◎The cases below, you may not be able to have an MRI scan.・Surgically implanted medical devices in the body (cardiac pacemaker, cochlear implant, vascular stent, dental implant, etc.)・Implanted arterial clip, prosthetic joint in the body.・Tattoos, or magnetic dentures.・Pregnancy or possibility of being pregnant.・If you take some medicine, please ask your home doctor.
◎ Contrast media (same for CT examination)In order to make a more accurate diagnosis, a contrast agent may be injected intravenously.The following people should consult their family doctor in advance.
・Those with bronchial asthma or allergies・People who have felt sick with contrast agents before・Kidney disease, especially those who are undergoing dialysis
◎ About contrast mediumDepending on the purpose of the examination, a contrast medium may be injected.In any of the cases below,Consult your doctor in advance.・Those with bronchial asthma or allergies・Those who have previously felt sick with contrast media・Those who have kidney disease, especially dialysis
◎ Cosmetics, contact lenses, and metals・Some cosmetics contain magnetic substances, which not only affect inspection images, but may also damage the mucous membranes of the eyes. You may be asked to remove your makeup.・Contact lenses may contain metal, so please remove them before the examination.・Because MRI scans use magnets, wearing metal objects not only affects the scan image, but is also very dangerous. Please take off bras and bodysuits that contain metal wires as underwear.
◎About cosmetics, contacts, and metals
・Cosmetics contain magnetic substances.It affects the inspection image and may damage the mucous membrane of the eye.So you may be asked to remove your makeup.・ Metal may be used for contact lenses, so please remove them before inspection.・ MRI is an examination using a magnet. If you wear metal, it will affect the nspection image and very dangerous.◎ The following items cannot be brought into the examination room.Rings, necklaces and other metal items, watches, glasses, mobile phones, key chains, cash cards, dentures, disposable body warmers, electric vans, etc.
◎Metal objects may malfunction or cause problems during an MRI examination.Hair pins, necklaces, earrings, pierced earrings, disposable body warmers, magnetic plasters, dentures, items containing metals such as rings, watches, and wallets, eye glasses, hearing aids, magnetic cards, cellular phones
◎ You will be asked to change into an examination gown before the examination (the same applies to CT examinations).
◎Before the examine you need to change clothes in changing room at CVIC.
◎ Dietary restrictions
・Please refrain from eating just before the test (4 hours before).・Please refrain from consuming beverages containing caffeine such as green tea, black tea, coffee, and alcohol for 24 hours before the examination. Take regular fluids (water, hot water, sports drinks, etc.).
・Please refrain from drinking water after coming to the hospital.You may eat as usual on the day of examination.□ Do not eat 4 hours before your examination.□ Take your medicine as usual on the day of your examination.□Do not take any caffeine items 24 hours before your examination.
◎ During the test, you will hear a machine sound like a mallet hitting a tree, but don't worry.◎ Examination time is 40-60 minutes.◎ Do not move your body as much as possible during the examination.◎ Please do not sleep during the examination.◎ We will instruct you to hold your breath for 10 to 30 seconds several times, so we ask for your cooperation.◎ During the examination, you can talk with the examination room staff through the microphone. Please let us know immediately if you feel unwell.◎You will hear a big sound and feel the bed vibrate.◎The duration will be about 40-60 minutes.◎Do not move your body during the examination.◎A radiology technician will tell you when you need to hold your breath. Follow the instructions.◎If you do not feel well, press the emergency button.

◎If your pulse is fast, you will be asked to take medicine. It takes about 40 minutes to 1 hour for the medicine to work, so the start of the test may be delayed. Please come with time to spare.
◎If your pulse at a higher rate than usual, you may need to take medicine to calm your pulse.
◎ Examination time is about 15 minutes.◎ Do not move your body as much as possible during the examination.◎ Please do not sleep during the examination.◎ We will instruct you to hold your breath for about 10 to 30 seconds, so please cooperate.◎ During the examination, you can talk with the examination room staff through the microphone. A If you are referred to CVIC for a contrast-enhanced (cardiac) CT examination, be sure to follow the instructions of the doctor who made the request or the doctor who prescribed your diabetes medicine, and take rest according to the doctor's instructions. Regarding oral hypoglycemic agents "biguanides
Since biguanide drugs may cause lactic acidosis when used in combination with an iodinated contrast medium, they should be discontinued for 48 hours before the contrast medium examination as much as possible, and should be discontinued for 48 hours after the contrast medium examination."*This drug withdrawal guideline is the standard. Even if there is no instruction from the doctor who requested you about the timing of your own drug withdrawal, please check the contents here and ask "Is it okay to stop taking medicine?"
